How it works:
Large water softening equipment mainly uses ion exchange technology to remove hard minerals such as calcium and magnesium ions from water. The device contains one or more ion exchange resin beds that absorb calcium and magnesium ions from the water and release an equal amount of sodium ions to soften the water. Over time, the sodium ions in the resin bed gradually decrease and a regeneration process is required to restore its softening ability.
